ADVA (FSE: ADV) today launched its grandmaster OSA 5405-P substation, an ultra-compact synchronisation solution designed specifically for the digital transformation of power utility networks.
The OSA 5405-P provides the precise and reliable timing that utilities need to take advantage of new smart grid applications, including intelligent power generation, distribution and control systems.
The solution protects mission-critical infrastructure from the risk of outages caused by loss of timing from satellite signals by combining GNSS receivers with accurate grandmaster PTP clocks and network-supplied timing.
Available with rack-mount, DIN-rail and wall-mount options, the OSA 5405-P also reduces cost and complexity in synchronisation networks. In addition, by supporting both legacy and new timing technologies, the solution enables utility networks to smoothly and cost-effectively transition to next-generation synchronisation.
