Spirent offers 802.11ax WLAN test capabilities to accelerate Wi-Fi 6 development and deployment

Spirent Communications plc (LSE: SPT), a trusted provider of test, measurement, reliability and analysis solutions for next-generation devices and networks, today announced the availability of the Spirent TestCenter WLAN 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) test solution. Combined with Spirent’s first 2.5G / 5G BASE-T Ethernet products, it constitutes the highest performing and most realistic multi-client 802.11ax wireless WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) emulation and test tool available on the market today, enabling the Wi-Fi industry to further the development and deployment of Wi-Fi 6 technology.

The Spirent TestCenter WLAN 802.11ax test solution can be used to test IEEE 802.11ax Access Point (AP) functionality, features and performance, and end-to-end testing of WLAN ecosystems, including WLAN access controllers and gateways. It emulates a large number of realistic WLAN clients through the 2.5G / 5G Ethernet and 802.11ax Wi-Fi test ports in the chassis to easily achieve multi-Gbps throughput. The solution also offers full Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) test coverage through the integration of a radar signal emulation tool to support both wired conductive RF and Over-The-Air (OTA) testing.

“Users expect Wi-Fi technologies to be ubiquitous. The emergence of these latest enhancements such as Wi-Fi 6 enables network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises to scale their Wi-Fi access points to carrier-grade and enterprise technology, significantly improving capacity, performance, reliability and security, ” said Spirent’s general manager in Cloud and IP,Abhitesh Kastuar. “Spirent’s new 802.11ax test solution builds on the market leadership established by the company in 802.11ac testing by extending it to the latest standards in Wi-Fi 6 AP, device and networking.”

“By leveraging Qualcomm Technologies’ 802.11ax chipset in their test equipment, Spirent enhances the Wi-Fi ecosystem with key test capabilities to optimize the performance and functionality of their Wi-Fi 6 routers,” said Gopi Sirineni, Vice President, Product Management , Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We are pleased to partner with Spirent and WLAN access point providers to encourage the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 technology – offering significant upgrades to the capacity and efficiency of traditional broadband networks to better meet the needs of today’s consumers.”

“Spirent’s Wi-Fi test solutions are capable of simulating various combinations of endpoints for testing China Telecom’s Wi-Fi portfolio, providing a solid foundation for the advancement and implementation of ongoing operations for 802.11ax APs,” added Bo Gao, Senior Staff Engineer at the Shanghai Telecommunications Research Technology Institute (STTRI), a division of China Telecom.

Let’s face it, no look is really complete without the right finishes. Not to the best of standards, anyway (just tellin’ it like it is, babe). Upgrading your shoe game. Platforms, stilettos, wedges, mules, boots—stretch those legs next time you head out, then rock sliders, sneakers, and flats when it’s time to chill.
