CloudSure: the industry’s first standards-based NFV Cloud test platform. Spirent CloudSure is an extensible and open test platform for benchmarking and validating NFV ecosystems, enabling Service Providers to ensure their virtualised infrastructure.

CloudSure helps ensure the success of NFV-based environments such as 5G. CloudSure combines various test packages containing test templates for specific technology areas. Each template can be easily configured via CloudSure’s graphical user interface, with the user setting parameters for the VIM profile, as well as specific parameters for each test.

CloudSure provides a data-driven user interface and is highly customisable. Test templates provide all data to the user interface for configuration and rendering of results.

Spirent Managed Services can help customise the test template configuration to provide results specific to user needs.

To check the status of the cloud under test, users can run the tests in their entirety or step by step. Results are displayed graphically and numerically in real time and at the end of the test. They can be manipulated using Spirent TestCenter IQ™, allowing users to perform thresholding, multi-level filtering, sorting and zoom/zoom on the data to quickly identify bottlenecks and potential root causes of performance issues.

Reports can be generated in a variety of formats, including PDF. For automation purposes, the REST API is provided to help with configuration, execution and extraction of results. CloudSure test packages use virtual and physical ports from Spirent TestCenter to generate and analyse network traffic.

They also use Spirent CloudStress agents to generate multi-dimensional workloads, stressing processing, memory and storage resources. The test packages retrieve statistics for the tested cloud from Spirent Agents of the service metrics, providing valuable information on resource utilisation, helping to identify root causes of poor performance.
